GIA and AGS New Cut Grade Systems
You probably know that GIA will soon introduce a new diamond cut grading system, but you may not know that AGS too are going to completely change their system. The AGS system will be based on a complex version of the Ideal-Scope. Read about their presentation at the diamond cut conference I co-convened in Moscow (transcript

Some diamonds with AGS 0 cut grade will not be AGS 0 anymore! Around 80% of the round diamonds GIA now grade will not get GIA’s top grades either. Your store will stock a lot of certified stones that no longer cut the mustard.
