How to Use the Ideal-Scope 1. Using the Ideal Light 2. Using a Desk Lamp 3. Using the Diffuser Dome Sit the diamond in one of the two holes. Place the calibration CZ in the other hole. Centre the Ideal-Scope over one of the stones. Only look at one stone at a time. Slide the scope across to view the other stone. Refer to the Reference Chart for grading results. Tape a piece of copy paper to the front of a lamp Pick up the diamond with tweezers. Bring the Ideal-Scope up until the tweezers just touch the pink edge Hold the Ideal-Scope very close to your eye (like a pair of glasses). The best lighting is about 3-5cm (1-2 inches) from the paper Note: - Do not hold the stone inside the pink edge of the Ideal-Scope - Tweezers are harder to use, but experienced graders find them faster - Do not cover the pink plastic, hold black lens only with finger tips - Direct bright lighting can make a individual facets shine (see example below) unfiltered or uneven light can cause facets to shine (top right of star) The Expert model comes an optional diffuser dome that works in a wide range of different lighting. With it you should face directly at a bright light. Do not have a stronger light from one side. Use the Reference Chart to understand Ideal-Scope Cut Grading Order Products Here
